Bridging Philadelphia’s Information Divide

At Resolve Philly, we are committed to bridging the information divide beyond traditional news delivery. For us, it's about understanding the preferences and needs of diverse communities and ensuring that they are well-informed for effective decision-making.

We recognize that different communities have varied preferences for receiving information, and we are committed to using a range of distribution methods to meet their needs, ensuring that information reaches people where they are.

We work to ensure equitable access to news and information, leaving no one uninformed or disconnected from crucial stories or resources.

At Resolve, bridging the information divide looks like:

Have a question about life in Philadelphia? Text us!

Philadelphia’s digital divide is real: Close to 20% of our city’s residents do not have reliable internet access. Our Equal Info Text line aims to make sure that the digital divide does not further contribute to an information divide. The Equal Info Text line is a free question-and-answer service that provides news reporting and verified resources in English and Spanish. We send information on various topics from how to fight eviction, to what resources are available if your community is experiencing gun violence.

And once you’re signed up, you’ll be the first to get bite-sized “news you can use” that directly affects you and your neighbors.

To get started, sign up below or text “EQUAL INFO” to 215-910-4040.

Check out our latest community newsletter — created for Philadelphia residents, by Philadelphia residents!

Twice a year, we work with local residents and neighborhood change-makers to curate a collection of stories and resources that reflect the ideas community contributors prioritize and share throughout the year; this collection of stories and resources is then published as our Equally Informed Philly community newsletter.

Get paid to connect: Become an Equal Info Hub Captain

You’re a community leader, a block captain, that go-to Auntie. You know what’s up in your neighborhood — and we want to work with you!

Our Info Hub Captains are a cohort of neighborhood-level leaders, who serve as connectors to information in their communities and passionately listen to the needs of their neighbors. We provide journalism skills to better amplify those voices and connect these priorities with our partner media outlets, along with other storytelling opportunities. Join us in building a community of folks looking to empower Philadelphia residents to tell their stories and bridge the gap between the wealth of services in this city to the people who need them.

Meet Our Team

Equally Informed Philly is managed by real people with real stories and a deep love for the city. We’re proximate to the communities we serve. We encompass a diverse group of people — non-binary, immigrants, those without college degrees, individuals with previous incarceration experiences, and those who grew up without stable housing. We’re not outsiders looking in, but rather we are serving our own communities’ information needs. Although we come from different communities and walks of life, we’re united by one thing — the belief that everyone should have the information they need not only to survive but to thrive.
