Bridging Philadelphia’s information divide
Whether you’re in crisis or trying to create for your community, information is power. But even in today’s high-tech world, not everyone gets to make, share or find the info that really matters.
Equally Informed Philly, a labor of love from the nonprofit Resolve Philly, bridges the information gap with our Equal Info Line, a free SMS text service available in English and Spanish. Our team answers your questions about getting by and getting ahead in Philadelphia. We also use our connections with local media to help storytellers on the block shape tomorrow’s headlines.
To try us out, just text the phrase “EQUALINFO” to the number 73224.
What’s poppin’ : Our community newsletter is out—and created by you!
Twice a year we work with local artists and neighborhood change-makers to publish the Equally Informed Philly community newsletter. In the Summer issue we talk about switching up the strategy on food aid; Chinese teens and elders swapping wisdom; and a new resource guide for youth and families facing fallout from the gun violence epidemic.
Who’s talkin’ : Hector Ayala and Ronald Crews on therapy and gun violence - July 30, 12:30pm
On this month’s Blended Views, we’re talking about how we begin to heal the emotional and mental toll that gun violence is taking on the loved ones, witnesses, neighbors, and on all of us as a city. Joining us are Hector Ayala, MHS, HS-BCP - President and CEO of Hispanic Community CounselingServices (HCCS), one of the largest outpatient mental health providers serving the Latino/Latinx community in Philly, and Chair of the city's Latino Behavioral Health Coalition, and Ronald Crawford, Founder, CEO, and Therapist at Honesty Hurts and contributing writer at Rap Rehab, using cultural relevance & creativity to engage youth leaders of hip hop culture. Blended Views is a Facebook Live panel hosted by Equally Informed Philly and Dos Puntos on NBC10.
